Our Richmond club team - Floodwall - traveled up to Salisbury, Maryland last weekend to compete in the UPA Sectionals Event. We went in seeded 10th, and left placing 5th.

We were strong in pool play, rolling over the college teams we faced: Radford, James Madison U, and UVA. Only tough game we had Saturday was against HOV. Both teams had their share of breaks in the first half, with HOV taking half 7-6. We broke down a bit in the second half, and HOV had a deeper bench to go to; they won the game 13-8.

Sunday was good... Won against Disc Function (15-7), lost to Medicine Men (12-14), defeated William & Mary (15-7), and lost again to HOV (8-13). Full results are on the UPA Score Reporter Site.

The bad thing: our jerseys were delayed a couple of days and didn't come in until Saturday (too late for us to take to Maryland with us).

The good thing: WE MADE REGIONALS, so we get to wear the jerseys when we play the first week in October.

Grats, and where did you play in Salisbury? My parents live there.

Played on some really awful fields on Glenn Ave near the Civic Center off Beagley Park Drive. All in all a horrible trip, except for the fact that we played well.

To give an idea of how bad these fields were... it was like weeds growing on sand dunes, with large holes in some areas. One field even had an old, rusted, iron pipe sticking up out of it (we marked it with a hazard disc). I twisted my ankle early in the weekend but was able to walk it off and keep playing, and Fuller suffered a mild sprain on Sunday and had to sit out the rest of our games. Ick.
